Our History
Founded in 2002

Robin Jessop Ltd was founded on 1st May 2002. Robin had been working at Northallerton Auctions and Estate Agency for the previous 21 years and at the age of 50 he decided that it was time to take the plunge and go it alone! He began working from a room within the offices of Kenneth Easby Chartered Accountants in Bedale who kindly allowed Robin to present his properties from their window and within 18 months Robin had bought his own offices across the road at the North End of Bedale. With his secretary June as his only member of staff he has grown the practice over the last 20 years into two offices and 14 members of staff covering the whole of North Yorkshire and South Durham.

Robin Jessop

BA FRICS FAAV
Managing Director, Land Agent, Chartered Surveyor & Registered Valuer

After graduating from Durham University with a BA Hons Degree, I started my career in County Durham with a firm of Land Agents. Whilst there, I gained my professional qualifications as a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.

I moved down to North Yorkshire in 1981 and joined a firm of Agricultural Valuers and Livestock Auctioneers.

I decided to establish Robin Jessop Ltd in 2002 as a firm of Land and Estate Agents, Auctioneers and Valuers.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going on holiday, gardening and walking in the beautiful countryside on our doorstep.

Tim Gower

BSc (Hons)(Surv) MRICS MNAEA
Director, Head of Residential, Chartered Surveyor & Registered Valuer

Registered Valuer with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents.

I originate from York and went to school at St. Peter’s. I then qualified in Urban Estate Surveying at Nottingham and had a training year working in Doncaster. My first job in property from the late 1980’s was based in Harrogate and covered much of the same rural area as I now work in. I have moved house 10 times – being in the perfect job for so many house moves (!) I initially spent several years living in and around York city centre, before later moving to a small rural village near Coxwold. I now live in an active village close to Leyburn on the fringe of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. When I am not working, I like to explore the immediate countryside available to me and to get on my bike when I feel energetic enough to do so! I also like a good walk, gardening and when unable to get outside, like a good browse of antiques in the local auction centre and antique shops in the local market towns!

Andrew Dickins

Andrew has over 16 years of property experience at Robin Jessop Ltd. Before that Andrew worked at a large northern livestock auction mart gaining experience in all aspects of rural property.

Today, Andrew, specialises in the sale and purchase of agricultural property, valuations for varying purposes and compensation matters. Andrew has a wealth of experience of issues that affect landowners and tenants in today’s changing agricultural climate.

Outside of work, Andrew is actively involved in the running of the family farm and also running after his children. He also acts as a Trustee of two charities operating throughout the Northeast.
